SHORT TERM COURSE ON Modeling and Computational Techniques for Multiphase Systems 2018

Event Description

The objective of this course is to provide the fundamentals of multifluid models for the analysis of multiphase flows. Multiphase flows are of paramount interests to the researchers, and engineers working in chemical process, petroleum, cryogenic, space, food, bio-medical, and several other industries. This course will present the combined aspects of theoretical and practical applications in several areas, especially in multiphase system design. This course introduces the fundamental behavior and the governing equations of multiphase flow dynamics, and the numerical approximation of mathematical concepts through several computational techniques. This course will also reflect the stateof-art in multiphase flow modeling. It is expected that after completion of this course successfully, participants will have a sound understanding of the computational techniques to investigate multiphase flows and their dynamics. They will be able to critically access the best CFD model and to customize for their desired applications. Moreover, participants will also be capable of dealing with a range of multiphase flow problems using CFD packages and/or their own codes.
