SHORT TERM COURSE on Fundamentals of fluid Mechanics 2018

Event Description

Fluid mechanics is core subject taught in multiple engineering disciplines including civil, mechanical, chemical and aerospace. The course aims to develop clear in-depth understanding of both fundamental and applied aspects of fluid mechanics. This is accepted to clear many of the hidden basic concepts of fluid mechanics and hence those teaching this subject will be significantly benefited.

BROAD OBJECTIVES

? Develop an understanding of fluid statics and dynamics in civil engineering and other engineering branches as well as a variety of other fields.

? Learn to use control volume analysis to develop basic equations and to solve problems.

? Understand and use differential equations to determine pressure and velocity variations in internal and external flows.

? Learn to use equations in combination with experimental data to determine losses in flow systems.

? Learn to use dimensional analysis to design physical or numerical experiments and to apply dynamic similarity.

? Hydrostatics.

? Fluid Kinematics.

? Dynamics of fluid flow

? Navier-Stokes equations

? Turbulent Flow

VENUE FOR CLASSES

Course will be held at the PG1 hall of Civil Engineering Department, SGGSIE&T, Nanded. LECTURE NOTES To fully realize the objectives of the course, the lecture notes will be made available at the time of registration at SGGSIE&T, Nanded. REGISTRATION There is no registration fee for the course. All interested candidates are required to enclose a Demand Draft (DD) of Rs.1000 in the name of “Director, SGGSIE&T, Vishnupuri, Nanded”. The above Demand Draft will be refunded to the not selected candidates and also to the selected participant if he / she attend the course. In case a selected participant does not attend the course, the above amount will be forfeited. Candidates should complete the enclosed registration form, and send it by speed post or courier to the Coordinator along with the DD. Confirmation of eligible candidates will be on a first come first served basis up to a maximum of 30 candidates. The completed registration forms along with demand draft should be received by the Coordinator by December 20, 2017.
